What is it? What’s in it for me? Product demo

How does it work?

The user slides his finger across the NaviLite™ external window. The OTM™ sensor, located inside the NaviLite™, detects the relative motion and moves the handset cursor on the screen accordingly.

NaviLite™ Characteristics:
  • Small Size - The OTM ‘NaviLite™’ has a window of typically 1*1mm, and diameter of approximately 4mm. This also allows the NaviLite™ to be placed in different locations in the device (like on the back or on the side of the handset), enabling intuitive use and creative designs.

  • 3D navigation - with the imminent emergence of three dimensional displays the NaviLite™ uniquely offers three dimensional navigation capability, including ‘depth’ control.

  • High durability - the NaviLite™ can detect vertical movement to and from the component, enabling ‘click’ operation by tapping the finger on the component face. Implementing the ‘optical click’ eliminates all the mechanical elements from the system.

  • Low power consumption - NaviLite™ has an advanced stand-by mode algorithm, which together with intrinsic low power consumption of OTM results in very low power consumption specifications for the device.

  • Performance - NaviLite™ does not suffer from cursor drift like in track point devices or from sensitivity to wet or sweaty fingers, caused by use of the fingers’ electrical attributes.

  • Cost - NaviLite™ presents a significantly lower life-cycle cost together with unique selling features.
